Overview

E-Flite is a popular hobby-grade RC brand that makes expensive and advanced helicopters and airplanes. The Blade Scout CX, though, is a relatively cheap, entry-level micro heli designed to be flyable by even first-timers. It has a coaxial design (two counter-rotating main rotors) and uses an actual radio controller instead of the typical infrared technology, so you can safely use the heli around bright lights or even outdoors if there is absolutely no wind. The package includes all necessary batteries, so all you have to do to get flying is charge up the removable miniature battery for the helicopter, and then plug it in.

Conclusion

The E-Flite Blade Scout CX is as smooth & stable in flight as the best RCs money can buy, but its advanced flight mode is a welcome surprise that lets you experience performance well beyond that of cheaper 3-channel helicopters. The Scout CX's price is the only thing about it that gives me pause, but I feel like the advanced mode, 2.4 Ghz controller, and replaceable heli battery make it all worth it.
