Initial Impressions

Bling bling! These wheels seriously glisten in the sun, and the paint has a little bit of a two-tone effect. The car looks great just standing still.

Preparing to Drive

It was a little frustrating having to use a screwdriver to get the car out of the package, and the screw (inserted from the bottom) was really long, too! Once everything's out of the box, though, you'll next want to install the antenna tube (never let an antenna wire hang around freely, 'cuz it can get stepped on or break off), and also try to somewhat straighten the transmitter antenna. If you have a Fast Lane 6V battery, you can charge that up & put it in, otherwise you insert four AA's into a special battery tray, and then lock the battery tray into the car.

Testing

This car is not super fast, but it's very stable & consistent. The tires feel a little hard to the touch, but the car still turns well and exactly when you want, with no hesitation. There's no digital proportional control here, so it's forward/back, straight, left, or right. Really simple & easy to use. The transmitter is a good size for smaller hands, too. Speaking of the radio system, range is really good over 50 feet in my tests.

Conclusion

This is a great car for kids in the 5- to 8-year-old range. It moves nicely, but not so fast that it'll get out of control or get easily damaged by inexperienced drivers. I think whether you'll like it or not will depend entirely upon your preference in style!
